Meet Amanda

Writer. Strategist.
Granny hobbyist focused on a slower-paced life.

I launched Amanda the Assistant in 2020, in the thick of a pandemic, working from home with my oldest on my lap and a to-do list that never seemed to end.

I've done social media. I've done the trends, the reels, the late-night caption writing. And after years of watching business owners treat follower counts like a success metric while their inquiry form stayed empty, I made a call: I was done.

The digital world was draining, the burnout I felt was very real, and I longed for a way to sustain business as my grandparents did in the ‘90s, you know?

Sadly, I don’t have a time machine, but I did notice that my clients were getting a boatload of traffic and more bookings from blogs when we were strategic about the approach.

A lightbulb went off & the new era of Amanda the Assistant was born.

Digital Marketing

(but make it anti-hustle culture)

As a homeschooling mom, fire wife, and business owner running things from my kitchen table, I know a thing or two about trying (and failing) to find balance.

I could write a book about the guilt that comes along with it. I heard the same desperation and emotion when I spoke with clients who were in the same sinking boat as me.

Add in the need to perform constantly for social media so you don’t run the risk of seeing your engagement tank, and suddenly you’re under the kind of pressure Queen sang about.

The harsh reality: that kind of strain is not sustainable.

Getting your name out there as a small business owner is a non-negotiable, but there are no rules about how it gets done.

GET TO KNOW ME

COLOSSIANS 3:23

For an introvert like little ole me, starting this business was very much an act of faith (in 2020, mind you!). I run this endeavor like the blessing it is to me & hope it’s the same for those I serve.

WHEN I GROW UP…

Once upon a time, I dreamed of writing for Rolling Stone. Now, blogging for my clients about weddings, engagements, and newborns is like the best of both worlds for past & current Amanda.

ADVOCATE

Mental health is a passion of mine. In another life, I worked as a case manager so don’t be surprised if I preach a little about the importance of boundaries and self-care.

WORDY, WITTY & BRIMMING WITH CAFFEINE

I’m a Gilmore Girly with a penchant for all things wordy & witty, especially a good story. I’m always looking for good book recommendations to enjoy while I fuel my coffee addiction.
